    Inclusive Business Models in Coffee Value Chain: Comparing Practical Evidence Between East Java and North Sumatera

    This paper explores inclusive business practices by focusing on the relationship between investments for-profit and social impact for small-scale farmers. Value chain mapping was used and combined with business model canvas to enable fact-finding and linkage between profit-taking action and social impact in the coffee value chain. The study was performed in two regions: East Java and North Sumatra. The study interviewed 72 farmers from Bondowoso District, East Java, and 30 farmers from Mandailing Natal District, North Sumatra. The qualitative analysis revealed the role of local organization networks in supporting the extension and improving performance in value chain governance. The organization networks supported social issues and provided access to diverse resources and environments for companies to build commitments. Furthermore, the business model canvas modeled value propositions that were practically tackling the dimensions of profit and social impact to the organization's context. The coffee value chains in both regions were differ based on key features and elements of small farmers' inclusion in the coffee value chain. The findings show that the coffee business model in Mandailing Natal encouraged smallholder farmer inclusion better than in Bondowoso. Therefore, the study implies that a shifting from profit into social initiatives in inclusive business is needed. This study provides practical evidence of business model canvas in the coffee value chain cases, showing how to develop a mission social innovation in a profit organization.     Why Costumers Have The Intention to Repurchase at Coffee Shops in Bogor? Explaining The Role of Social Media Marketing, Dining Atmosphere, and Relationship Marketing

    This study aims to determine the impact of relationship marketing, social media marketing, and dining atmosphere on customer trust and repurchase intention. This study was conducted by surveying 407 customers who frequently visited Ngopi Doeloe, Popolo Coffee, Ranin Coffee House, Starbucks Coffee, Jco Donuts & Coffee, and The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, and Structural Equation Model (SEM) was used to test the research hypotheses. The findings supported the hypotheses that relationship marketing and social media marketing positively affected repurchase intention and customer trust. Relationship marketing had the greatest influence on customer trust in local coffee shops. In contrast, the dining atmosphere did not affect repurchase intention.     DYNAMICS OF CATTLE FATTENING INDUSTRY IN INDONESIA

    The cattle fattening industry faces challenges from external factors, especially macroeconomic conditions and industry challenges with the increasing beef substitution imports to replace fresh beef. This research aimed to analyze the dynamics of cattle fattening industry in Indonesia. Porter's Five Forces analysis was conducted to see the mapping of competitions in the cattle fattening industry. PESTEL analysis was conducted to see external factors that affected live cattle imports in Indonesia. Cointegration and Error Correction Model analysis was conducted to see important and influencing factors of live cattle imports in Indonesia as the dependent variables and exchange rates, Gross Domestic Product, beef imports, beef offal imports and buffalo meat imports as the independent variables. This research used time series data based on the 2011-2019 data obtained from the Central Statistics Agency, the Ministry of Agriculture and Bank Indonesia. The results of Porter's Five Forces analysis showed high competition in the cattle fattening industry with the threat of substitute products, which was the factor that fully needed a response with the right strategy by the cattle fattening industry. The results of PESTEL analysis showed that external factors had a high effect on the cattle fattening industry, with the most important things that needed to be considered based on conditions, influences on the industry and level of importance including the factors of the development of animal feed technology, exchange rate fluctuation and national economic growth. The results of the Cointegration and Error Correction Model analysis showed that the factors that were important and affected live cattle imports in Indonesia included exchange rates, beef imports and buffalo meat imports.     Penyusunan Strategi Alternatif Dengan Pendekatan Triple Layer Business Model Canvas di PT Bando Indonesia

    PT Bando Indonesia is a manufacturing company that produces power transmission products and experiencing production capacity problems. The aims of this study are (1) to identify and evaluate the influence of the business environment factors and the current business model at PT Bando Indonesia; (2) to examine alternative business strategies applied by PT Bando Indonesia and; (3) to formulate recommendations and managerial implications based on the new business model. The method in this study uses internal analysis (IFE), external analysis (EFE), SWOT, and triple-layer business model canvas (TLBMC). The results show that the company's strengths are consumer segmentation, marketing, and product quality. The company’s weaknesses are procurement of materials, number of employees, and product development facilities don’t exist. The company's opportunities in their business are the growth of green technology, people's lifestyles, and people's awareness of the environment. The study also shows that the company’s threats are inflation, tax, unstable price of materials, and other resources. There are several alternative strategies generated using a SWOT analysis based on the company's internal and external circumstances The alternative strategies formed influence the improvement of the existing business model in several of its constituent factors. The three factors in TLBMC, economic, environmental, and social, received improvements in several of their building blocks to support alternative corporate strategies that have been formed.     Competing With Ride-Hailing Startups: Business Transformation Strategies for Conventional Taxi Companies in Indonesia

    The emergence of ride-hailing startups has dramatically changed the transportation landscape, threatening the existence of conventional taxi services. These new players have disrupted the traditional taxi industry, challenged their market share, and forced conventional taxi companies to adapt to changing consumer demands. As a result, conventional taxi companies like PT XYZ in Indonesia need to implement effective business transformation strategies to stay competitive and maintain their position in the market. This research implements a quantitative and qualitative descriptive approach and uses data analysis techniques, namely the IFE, EFE, IE matrix, QSPM, and Business Transformation Domain. The IFE analysis showed that a strong and strategic taxi distribution network in major cities was PT XYZ's main strength, while the company's financial position was a weakness. The EFE analysis identifies the high level of mobility and transportation needs as opportunity factors, while the standardization of fares, the number of fleets, and the lack of identity of online ride-hailing are threat factors. PT XYZ could implement the five domains of the digital transformation framework by increasing its business value by offering innovative taxi services, expanding service networks, improving customer interaction, developing business innovation through technology, utilizing data and analytics, and focusing on the company's strengths to compete with online taxi companies.     Mapping Fisheries Cold Chain in Western Java Using a Value Chain Perspective

    The fisheries sector is one of Indonesia's promising industries. This industry accounts for approximately 2.6 percent of total national GDP. However, fishery products are perishable and contribute to a total loss of approximately 40due to the fishery cold chain implementation was not yet optimal. Cold chain facilities were out of reach for small fisheries due to the large investments required. The study aimed to describe the current state of fisheries cold chain implementation. In the fisheries value chain, value chain mapping was used to enable fact-finding and linkage between existing conditions, chain actors, and governance. The research was carried out in two areas: Banten and West Java. The research conducted 90 interviews with fishermen, 9 collecting traders, 6 big traders, and 6 transporters. The research found that there are numerous channels in the chain governance. These channels have different requirements and demands in both traditional and modern markets. Furthermore, the fisheries cold chains in both regions varied based on key features and the inclusion of small stakeholders in the business relation. In conclusion, limited cold chain infrastructures were utilized by the actors directly and indirectly for decent work and reduce poverty.     EVALUASI PROGRAM PENCEGAHAN KECELAKAAN KENDARAAN DI PT FREEPORT INDONESIA

    PT Freeport Indonesia (PT FI) applies strict rule to prevent vehicle accident. In fact, the number of vehicle accident is recorded highly enough. The objectives of the research are to (1) identify the most influential factor to the number of light vehicle accident; (2) formulate the right planning to reduce the number of light vehicle accident; (3) provide recommendation to PT FI management to reduce the number of light vehicle accident at PT FI. The research applies used primary and secondary data resource. Secondary data taken from report data of vehicle accident is grouped using Contributory Factor Interaction Model (CFIM) to identify the causing factor of the accidents cause. Afterwards, identification of program improvement planning is conducted using Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP). The result of the research conveys that the most influential factor of light vehicle accident at PT FI is unsafe behavior of the driver. The right planning to reduce the number of light vehicle accident at PT FI, it is suggested to is conduct the human resources planning by providing training to improve soft skill and hard skill of the driver. Based on this influential factor and the AHP result, the right planning as a recommendation to PT FI Management to reduce the number of light vehicle accident is by applying short- and long-term human resources planning.     Electricity Supply Strategy for PT Freeport Indonesia’s Production Expansion

    PT Freeport Indonesia (PTFI) plans to build a new power generation facility in the face of production expansion, especially underground mine and mill optimization, which has an impact on increasing the demand for electricity up to 374.8 MW. The selection of the right type of power plant, will greatly determine the continuity of the electricity supply operation. There are many things to consider, making it difficult for companies to determine the type of new power plant. Therefore, this study aims to (1) determine the most important factors to consider in the construction of PTFI's new power plant; (2) provide recommendations for the choice of the best type of new power plant for PTFI. This study uses the method of literature review, expert interviews and questionnaires, which are processed using the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method. The results of the study indicate that conformity with the existing power generation facilities and support from government policies are the most important factors and sub-factors that must be considered by PTFI in the construction of new power plants in the Special Mining Business License (IUPK) area. The recommended type of new power plant is the Dual Fuel Power Plant (DFPP).     Working capital management has an important role on firm profitability especially for retail firms operating in emerging countries. Previous studies have not really considered the influence of macroeconomic conditions on working capital management and firm profitability relation. This paper investigates the impact of working capital management on firm profitability among Indonesian retail firms listed on Indonesia Stock Exchange with the moderation of GDP growth (GDP) and working capital loan interest rate (IR). This study uses panel data regression covering the period of Q1 2016 – Q2 2021. The results show that days inventory outstanding (DIO) has negative impact on gross operating profit (GOP) and return on asset (RoA) while days payable outstanding (DPO) has positive impact on RoA and cash cycle (CCC) has positive impact on gross operating profit (GOP). The results also show that GDP moderates the relationship between CCC components and GOP, while IR moderates the relationship between DIO and both firm profitability indicators, DPO and RoA, CCC and GOP. The results suggest retail firm management to pay attention to its inventories, payables and cash cycle.     Indonesian Coffee in The Global Value Chain: The Comparison of Global Partnership Sustainability Standards Implementation

    Global partnerships based on sustainability standards compiled by international NGOs are needed to achieve social, economic and environmentally sustainable development, as well as to deal with global uncertainty in trade and business of agricultural commodities, including coffee in Indonesia. This paper aims to compare the implementation of global partnership standards in coffee between Indonesia and other producer countries. The Study focused on sustainable standard-compliant in coffee such as 4C and Organic certification standards. Trade and sustainability map tools were described. The findings demonstrate that there were only 8 percent and 9 percent of the Indonesian coffee area certified by 4C and Organic, respectively. Indonesia placed at number fourth of 4C implementation in the worldwide after Brazil, Colombia, and Viet Nam. Indonesia is also placed at number fourth of Organic implementation in the worldwide after Mexico, Ethiopia, and Peru. To compete in the potential market, Indonesia’s commitment to implement sustainable standard-compliant in coffee is needed. Therefore, Indonesia has to increase the coverage of sustainability standards certified area to meet the global market demand.
